This is paradise! I loved Sharazad boutique hotel. My room was right on the beach. I woke up to the sunrise every morning. Morning runs, yoga on the beach, hammocks, great food, and genuinely warm staff made it perfect. I ended up extending my stay due to a medical issue and everyone went out of their way to keep me comfortable. The jungle gym is a lot of fun. I’ll be back! :)
I visited Sharazād Boutique Hotel at the end of May, in the off-season, and the weather was a wonderful surprise — almost no rain, just sunshine the entire time. The beach is magical. You can walk endlessly, and it feels completely safe and peaceful. The hotel itself is designed with so much love and attention to detail that I’ve never seen anything like it — hammocks and cozy little hideaway spots tucked away everywhere, just inviting you to relax. The food is exceptional, and the staff are something else entirely — warm, attentive, and somehow able to read your wishes before you’ve even spoken them. A real highlight was the yoga. The teacher is wonderfully professional, and because I was nearly alone in the off-season, I had private sessions — either in the covered yoga temple surrounded by jungle sounds, monkeys and birdsong, or right on the beach. Both were unforgettable. Easily one of the best hotel stays of my life. I will absolutely be coming back.
We stayed here for 4 nights after our safari as I'm sure many people do. The hotel was well equipped and very comfortable as many people have already said in their reviews. However, what I wish to comment on is the kindness of the staff to myself and my daughter during our stay. Unfortunately, she became unwell and we were not able to do the trips we had intended to do. This could not be helped. The hotel staff exuded kindness to us. They asked how she was, helped with individual portions of food for her, fresh ginger tea etc. They offered help with organising medical assistance. the operations manager even offered to organise breakfast at the sister hotel in Stonetown and luggage storage on our last day (unfortunately this didn't happen, but the kind offer was very much appreciated). The gentleman in the restaurant (Santosh? apologies for spelling) was extremely kind too. Thank you all for looking after us so well when we needed it! All is now well too. Asante sana xx
I stayed at sharazad boutique hotel over the winter and I cannot recommend it enough. The serenity of the hotel grounds combined with the friendly and helpful staff made for a beautiful vacation spot on Zanzibar. The new years celebrations were a perfect start to 2026, with a large buffet and local live music that had many guests dancing into the new year. I was particularly delighted by how the hotel combines nature with elegance, the open air atmosphere is truly relaxing. This hotel is definitely worth visiting.
A Refined Seaside Retreat Sharazad is a true havre de paix — a charming boutique hotel set directly on a private beach, designed like a small village on the sand. The atmosphere is exceptionally მშვიდ and intimate, ideal for a restorative escape. Whether relaxing by the pool, unwinding on a sunbed facing the sea, or enjoying the kitesurf club next door, the setting is effortless and serene. We stayed in two Deluxe Beach Suites and later moved (as planned) to a Deluxe Sea View Bungalow. Interestingly, the bungalow proved more refined than one of the suites (No. 16), despite the higher rate. Suite 32 was beautiful, though slightly less private due to its proximity to the neighboring suite. I recommend requesting a map prior to booking to select the layout that best suits your preference. Housekeeping was impeccable, with thoughtful daily attention to detail. Our stay was truly wonderful. I am rating it four stars only because a concern we raised during the week was never followed up by management — a small but noticeable disappointment given the level of the property and the extent of our stay. A beautiful, discreet address for those seeking understated luxury by the sea.
