Truly an oasis in the American-Germany Colony located in South Tel Aviv. The hotel is world class: rooms, food, staff. You can step out of the "World of Drisco" into Neve Tzedek, Park HaMesila, and the Old Train Station, Levinsky Market. But you are in South Tel Aviv / Yafo which has some grungy and grimy streets. We took taxis to restaurants out of the area: Tel Aviv has a lot of options.

I had a nice stay and there's a lot to like. I had a large room with a balcony facing the street, it was pretty quiet except for some sporadic construction. The hotel is beautiful but I thought some of the service fell a little short as well as the breakfast for the money I paid. The breakfast was delicious but one item i.e. pancakes or eggs, not both, I've never seen before, and fruit selection was limited. There's a huge Israeli selection (cheese, salad, tuna) and the eggs benedict were great! I do recommend and loved the area, gritty, artsy, but gentrifying.

Some hotels try to impress with luxury. Others create an actual feeling. The Drisco Hotel managed to do both — mainly because of its atmosphere. There is something genuinely unique about this historic building. From the moment you enter, you feel a rare balance between old-world elegance and modern comfort. The room was exceptionally clean, well organized, and thoughtfully maintained. Even small details like the coffee machine and shower reflected real attention to the guest experience. The air conditioning worked perfectly, the lighting was soft and pleasant, the music felt carefully chosen, and the silence throughout the hotel created a true sense of escape from reality. This is not a hotel for loud entertainment or endless attractions. It is a place for people who appreciate atmosphere, privacy, calmness, and character. The staff was warm and human. There was one moment when I requested milk to the room and the response took longer than expected, but the team later handled it professionally and even compensated with complimentary coffee — which honestly left a positive impression about how they treat guests. There are still a few things that could be improved: No pool or jacuzzi, the gym is fairly limited, parking may feel inconvenient for first-time visitors unfamiliar with the area, and there was a small issue with the shower head itself. But this is exactly the type of hotel where the charm outweighs the imperfections. It never feels artificial or “trying too hard” to be luxurious. It simply has identity. In my opinion, this hotel fits couples and adults especially well — people who value peace, atmosphere, architecture, and emotional comfort more than commercial entertainment. Some hotels are just places to sleep. Others leave you remembering how they felt after you leave. This is one of them.

We spent a night at the Drisco and we had a nice experience. The rooms are basic although the bathrooms are huge and well equipped. The balcony (we had one) is a waste of money... you are blocked by a tall building one side and by a huge Ficus tree on the other...no view at all. The staff was very welcoming and supportive and the overall vibe is excellent. The rooftop drink "happy hour" is nice gesture however the sunset is mostly blocked by (another) tall building.... Do note that the hotel does not offer a pool. I recommend strolling around the American Colony neighborhood, HaMesila Park and the old railroad station during afternoon/evening

Beautiful old building, immaculate rooms, and a great chef's breakfast à la carte. Plus, you get a happy hour in the historical Mark Twain lounge.
